About Music for Liberia
Since 2008, Music for Liberia has raised money for education in Liberia through a series of concerts and events featuring world renowned classical, African and jazz musicians. Our donations have enabled our charity partners to fund crucial work, including building libraries, supporting rural schools and providing accommodation for Ebola orphans. We also work with and provide performance opportunities for young musicians in London, including East London’s Kuumba Youth Music and Wandsworth’s World Heart Beat Music Academy.
In 2012, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf thanked the artists and organisers for their ”generosity and compassion to help us address a critical problem.”
This year, we are proud to be supporting Mother Blessings Orphanage in Mount Barclay, Liberia, and the Cachelle International Creative Arts Center in Monrovia, Liberia.
Music for Liberia is a not-for-profit organisation recognised as charitable by HMRC for tax purposes.
